More than 250 Chinese manufacturers are expected to meet Nigerian importers, distributors, investors and business leaders in Lagos in November as the China Commodities Expo Nigeria 2026 seeks to deepen commercial ties between China and Nigeria.

The expo comes as Nigeria-China commercial relations enter what organisers describe as a new phase.

According to China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Yu Dunhai, bilateral trade between the two countries reached approximately US$18 billion in the first half of 2026, representing a 35% year-on-year increase.

Chinese imports from Nigeria also rose by approximately 80% to US$2.3 billion during the same period, according to the information provided by the organisers.

The figures highlight the scale of the commercial relationship and the opportunities for businesses seeking stronger partnerships along the China-Nigeria trade corridor.

The three-day exhibition is scheduled to begin November 3 to 5, 2026, in Lagos and will bring together manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, investors, government representatives and other business professionals from Nigeria and the wider West African market.

Organised by Brightway International Exhibition-China, the event is positioned as a trade, sourcing, investment and business networking platform connecting Chinese manufacturers with African buyers and decision-makers.

Also speaking, Chief on the coming Expo, Chief Representative Officer of Brightway International Exhibition, Muheez Ojulari, said that the expo has developed into an important platform for connecting Chinese manufacturing capacity with Africa’s expanding consumer and industrial markets.

For Nigerian businesses, the organisers say the expo will provide an opportunity to discover suppliers, compare products and technologies, negotiate directly with manufacturers and establish international partnerships.

For Chinese companies, the event is intended to provide access to Nigerian and West African buyers, distributors, investors and industry decision-makers.

The organisers are positioning Nigeria as a strategic commercial entry point into the wider West African market.

Chinese manufacturers attending the expo will have opportunities to meet buyers, find distributors, launch products, identify investment opportunities and better understand the Nigerian market.

Nigerian businesses, meanwhile, can use the event to explore new product lines, suppliers, technologies and potential partnerships.

The broader opportunity extends beyond traditional import and export activity.

The organisers said the next phase of Nigeria-China economic cooperation should include investment, manufacturing partnerships, technology transfer, local production, value addition and industrial development.

The expo is also targeting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.

Established importers and distributors can use the event to identify new product lines and supplier relationships, while manufacturers and industrial operators can explore machinery, equipment and production solutions.

Investors will also have an opportunity to examine emerging opportunities across Nigeria’s consumer and industrial economy.

The organisers are inviting importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, contractors, developers, government agencies, investors, procurement professionals, business owners, entrepreneurs, trade associations, chambers of commerce and industry leaders.

Under the theme “MADE IN CHINA. MADE FOR AFRICA,” the organisers want the expo to move beyond product sales toward longer-term commercial relationships.

The stated objective is to create a marketplace where Chinese manufacturing meets African demand.

The China Commodities Expo Nigeria 2026 will take place from November 3 to 5 at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

For businesses operating across manufacturing, procurement, supply chains, energy, construction, technology and international trade, the event is positioned as a platform to connect, source, partner, invest and grow.
