2027: APM Urges Lagosians To Join ‘I Am A Resetter’ Movement

The Allied People’s Movement (APM), Lagos State chapter, has congratulated its presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, and the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Laja Adeoye, following the release of the final list of candidates for the 2027 elections.

The party also congratulated its candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly, describing the publication of the final list as an important milestone ahead of the elections.

In a statement signed by the APM Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Ayodele Kazeem Olalekan, the party said the development presented an opportunity to “restore democratic power to the people” and build governments focused on the welfare and aspirations of citizens.

Olalekan said the party commended Makinde and other candidates for their commitment to public service at a time when Nigerians were demanding a new direction.

The APM also called on Lagos residents to join its “I Am a Resetter” movement, urging voters to demand greater accountability and improved public services from government.

The party said Lagosians deserved good roads, affordable housing, quality education, accessible healthcare, employment opportunities, effective transportation and improved security, as well as support for entrepreneurs and a business environment conducive to economic growth.

Under its proposed “Atunto Eko 1.0” agenda, the APM said it envisioned a Lagos administration that would be people-centred, accountable, transparent and responsive.

It said the agenda would focus on addressing unemployment, supporting entrepreneurs with access to capital, expanding housing opportunities, improving education and security, and addressing concerns over multiple taxation.

“Reset Lagos. Atunto Eko 1.0,” the party said, describing the initiative as a proposed change in the way the state is governed rather than merely a campaign slogan.

The party said its Lagos agenda would form part of its broader “Reset Nigeria” agenda under the leadership of Makinde.

The APM urged voters to look beyond what it described as personality-driven politics, propaganda and empty promises, and to consider candidates based on issues, ideas and accountability.

It called on Lagosians to support Makinde for president and Adeoye for governor, while also urging voters to support the party’s candidates across the three senatorial districts, federal constituencies and state constituencies.

The party further appealed to young people, workers, artisans, traders, professionals, entrepreneurs, students, retirees and other residents to participate actively in the electoral process.

“Do not merely complain about the system. Become a Resetter. Do not merely demand change. Vote for it. Do not surrender your democratic power. Use it,” the statement said.

The party said it would take its message to communities across Lagos State through direct engagement with residents and campaigns centred on issues and proposed solutions to challenges confronting the state.

It added that the objective was to move residents “from complaint to action, from frustration to participation, and from the old order to a new beginning.”

The APM urged Lagosians to support what it described as a “reset” of both Lagos State and Nigeria through the 2027 elections.
