Warren: Joshua, Fury Yet To Agree On Venue For Big Bout

British boxing promoter Frank Warren has disclosed that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua must agree on a venue for their targeted November heavyweight fight, warning that the bout could be postponed or canceled if both camps cannot reach a final decision.

Wembley Stadium in London was the initial choice, but start-time disagreements pushed Madison Square Garden in New York into favour following input from Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh.

Joshua’s promoter stated they would not have signed the contract if the fight was slated for the United States, indicating discussions must happen.

Speaking to ESPN, Warren noted that both sides must agree to the terms, otherwise the fight will not happen as planned.

“Tyson Fury has his agreement, which states something different. The fight will happen.

“I’ve heard what Eddie has said. They’re either going to agree to it or not. If they don’t agree to it then the fight won’t happen.

“Tyson signed for the fight back in January; the fight was supposed to happen in September.

“They were supposed to have a warm-up fight in September; unfortunately there was that terrible, tragic accident that AJ was in where he lost two of his best friends, and that held everything up.

“But the fight I understand, will be November, and the venue will be announced in due course.”
