Sokoto South II: Jegawa Donates N50m Items
…Danda Declares APC Victory
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the member representing Sokoto South II Constituency in the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Gidado Jegawa, has donated empowerment items worth over N50 million to beneficiaries drawn from the six wards of his constituency.
The items included three brand new vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 12 sewing machines and 12 grinding machines.
The benefiting wards are Rijiya ‘A’, Rijiya ‘B’, Sarkin Zamfara ‘A’, Sarkin Zamfara ‘B’, Sarkin Adar Kofar Atiku and Sarkin Adar Kwanni.
Jegawa said the gesture was in appreciation of the giant strides of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the exemplary leadership and guidance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, the Chairman of Sokoto South Local Government, Hon. Ya’u Muhammad Danda, commended the lawmaker, describing it as a worthy effort towards uplifting his people.
He noted that such empowerment programmes, when sustained, will bring meaningful development to the communities.
He called on other appointed and elected officials to emulate the lawmaker to complement government efforts, especially ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Danda also declared that the people of Sokoto State are fully prepared to vote for the APC from top to bottom, saying no APC candidate, from the President to State Assembly members, will be left behind.
According to him, the people are ready to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, and all other APC candidates.
Also speaking, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Sokoto Central, Alhaji Yahaya Buhari Siriddawa, lauded the lawmaker for the invaluable gesture.
Siriddawa appealed to other officials to emulate Hon. Jegawa to complement the efforts of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, who has hugely developed the state under his 9-Point Smart Agenda.
He also announced an additional donation of N5 million to APC leaders in the six wards, as well as another N5 million for members of the Yahaya Buhari Contact and Mobilisation Organisation to enhance their operations.
A cross-section of party leaders and elders who spoke at the event also commended the lawmaker for coming to the aid of the beneficiaries, urging other officials to emulate him to further alleviate the sufferings of APC members across the state.
Dignitaries at the event included the Vice Chairman of Sokoto South Local Government, Hon. Faruku Umar Garba; member representing Sokoto South I Constituency, Hon. Mustapha Abdullahi; and Special Adviser, Hon. Aminu Sani Liman.
Others were councillors of Sokoto South under the leadership of the Council Leader, Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman; APC leaders in Sokoto South under the leadership of Alhaji Hayatu Mohammed; commissioners, special advisers, state APC leaders, politicians, businessmen and other guests.
