2027: PDP, APC, NDC Collapse Structures Into APGA NASS Candidate In Anambra
Structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) have been collapsed into the candidacy of Chief Chukwudi Oli of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency.
The development followed the adoption of Oli’s candidacy by a group comprising members of the PDP, APC, NDC, and other political parties in Njikoka Local Government Area, which is part of the federal constituency.
Members of the group declared their support for Oli during a consultative meeting with the APGA House of Representatives candidate’s campaign organisation held in Abagana on Tuesday.
The campaign organisation, headed by former Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. George Ozor, as Director-General (DG), formally received the defecting political structures.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leader, Ozo Ejiamatu, and chairman, Mr. Onyenechi Ezeaso, said they decided to support Oli because of his proven commitment to the development of the communities within the federal constituency and his passion for humanity.
“In this group, some of us are members of the PDP, APC, NDC, and other political parties.
“But we have decided to come together to support you because we are convinced that by supporting you, we are working for ourselves. We know that you will work for the development of the DNA (Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha) Federal Constituency when you get to the House of Representatives.
“We do not want to allow selfish politicians who have been deceiving our people to continue winning elections in this federal constituency because they have deceived us enough,” Ejiamatu said.
Also speaking, Ezeaso clarified that the group was not an APGA political group, stressing that its endorsement of Oli did not amount to adopting all APGA candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Responding, Oli thanked the group for its confidence in him and pledged not to disappoint them if elected.
He said his political philosophy was anchored on “accountability, transparency, togetherness, and touching lives.”
He vowed that if elected into the House of Representatives, he would not use his office for personal gain but would deploy his capacity and influence to advance the development of the federal constituency while leaving his reward to God.
Oli added that he would be guided by the philosophy of his mentor, the Anambra-born oil mogul and philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze, assuring the people that they would enjoy better representation and improved living conditions if elected.
Chairman of the campaign organisation, Hon. George Ozor, and the APGA Chairman in Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Anakwe, commended the group for the confidence reposed in Oli.
“We know this House of Representatives election will be one of the toughest contests in Anambra State. However, considering the capacity of your leader, Ozo Ejiamatu, and the calibre of people joining us today, we have no doubt that the task ahead has become much easier and that victory is assured,” Ozor said.
Anakwe described the endorsement as a major morale booster for APGA and its House of Representatives candidate, as well as the party’s other candidates in the area, including its senatorial candidate, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo.
